ISA promotes ecologically sustainable, economically viable, socially just local food systems through policy development, advocacy and education. The purpose of the Illinois Stewardship Alliance is to promote the establishment of sustainable local food systems. A food system is the chain of activities linking food production; processing; distribution and access; consumption; and waste management, as well as all of the associated regulatory and educational institutions and activities, and the environmental and social justice issues. |
