Illinois Stewardship Alliance 3nd Annual Membership Drive

ISA-MembDrive14-FBcover2

Imagine a place where local foods are on the menu of nearly every restaurant, year-round farmers markets serve all communities in Illinois, vacant lots are transformed into community gardens, and the countryside is dotted with farms of all sizes living in harmony with the environment.

If you’re like me, these are visions we share for Illinois.

For 40 years, the Illinois Stewardship Alliance has been a pioneer, working to make such visions reality.

Our work is using local foods to revitalize communities and economies. It’s creating new options for business development. It’s pushing for laws that support and encourage local food innovation and entrepreneurship. It’s creating healthier families. It’s supporting conservation and land stewardship. And it’s helping family farming make a comeback.

Everyone wins in this vision we share. But to make it happen, we need your show of support, and we have several exciting opportunities coming up for you to do just that.

First off, from May 14th-June 30th we are having our 3rd Annual Membership Drive.  If you are not already a member, now is the perfect time to join. New members and current members that recruit friends, family, and colleagues to join will be entered into a drawing for a number of great prizes, including a one month meat CSA share fromCedar Valley Sustainable Farm ($90 value) and Patagonia luggage.

Second, on May 14th (today!), we will be kicking off our Membership Drive with a Happy Hour at J.P. Kelly’s in Springfield from 4-7 p.m. Come enjoy live music, local food, and seasonal drinks. Meet the ISA staff and learn more about what we do. For every seasonal drink purchased, $1 will be donated to ISA.

Third, we invite you to join us on June 22nd from 3-6 p.m. at the Danenberger Family Vineyards in New Berlin for a Summer Shindig. We will be hosting this free party for our members as a token of our appreciation and to celebrate our 40thanniversary. For non-members, the cost of attending is $10, and this is a great opportunity to learn more about Illinois Stewardship Alliance.

Finally, to help us celebrate our 40thAnniversary, the McKnight Foundation will match dollar for dollar, up to $5,000, every dollar of increased support we receive from our current members and donors. Please consider helping us celebrate by donating $15, $25, or $50 dollars.

On behalf of Illinois Stewardship Alliance’s board and staff,

thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Wes King
