Join us for the 11th annual Springfield Holiday Farmers Markets! Start a tradition and shop locally for fresh ingredients and unique gifts that will make all your holiday gatherings merry and bright.
Saturday, November 18
Saturday, December 16
Held indoors in warm and cozy buildings on the state fairgrounds, each of the Holiday Farmers Markets proudly presents more than 35 vendors from central Illinois selling a wide variety of products, including pasture-raised turkeys, pork, beef, poultry, eggs, cheese, honey, apples, baked goods, cider, local beer and Illinois wine. It’s the perfect place to pick up truly unique and local holiday gifts and ingredients while also keeping your shopping dollars in the local community.
Hot coffee and hot chocolate will be available for sale from Custom Cup, and Copper Pot Cooking Studio will have hot lunch available for purchase, including soups made from local ingredients and served with fresh-baked bread. Kids activities and crafts– including leather stamping and beaded bracelets made with beads from local llama wool– will be provided by the amazing artists of the Springfield Art Association, and local guitarist Silas Tockey will serenade shoppers with holiday music as they peruse the isles.
LINK cards will be accepted, and the Double Value Program offered by the Old Capitol Farmers Market will also be available thanks to a sponsorship from Central Baptist Church. The church will provide a match of up to $25 for LINK recipients to use on fresh fruits and vegetables. This means LINK recipients can swipe their card for $25 and receive and additional $25 to use on produce, doubling their purchasing power and making wholesome holiday meals available to families across Springfield.

Although the late fall and winter seasons are generally believed to be a time where there is very little in the way of fresh fruits and vegetables, many farmers have found inventive ways to extend their growing seasons well into the winter months. Fresh greens, garlic, potatoes, squash, radishes, carrots, apples and many other varieties of produce will also be available. Not only is this an opportunity to purchase delicious, seasonal food for the upcoming holiday feasts, but it also gives you one last opportunity to stock up on local foods before the winter.
This event is free and open to the public. It is organized by Illinois Stewardship Alliance and their Buy Fresh Buy Local Central Illinois chapter in partnership with the Illinois Department of Agriculture, Slow Food Springfield, LRS (Levi, Ray, and Shoup), Illinois National Bank, Illinois Wine, the Bank of Springfield, Troxell Financial and New York Life.
