The Local Flavors Farm-to-Table Restaurant
Local Flavors is a farm-to-table series connecting Illinois growers and producers with local restaurants. The series takes place in 4 cities across central Illinois: Bloomington-Normal, Peoria, Springfield, and Champaign-Urbana. Every first and third Thursday of the month, June to October, participating restaurants in each of these cities will offer a lunch or dinner special menu item (or items) highlighting fresh, seasonal, locally produced foods sourced from central Illinois farmers. The series opens new markets for small farmers; gives restaurants an opportunity to source locally and receive high quality products; and gives YOU a chance to support local farmers, local restaurants, and the local economy.
Local Flavors is a program of the Buy Fresh Buy Local Central Illinois Chapter. The purpose of this program is to connect local farmers to area restaurants, retailers, institutions, farmers’ markets and consumers within the Central Illinois region. Thanks to our local partners – Downtown Springfield, Inc., Downtown Bloomington Association, Peoria Riverfront Association, Slow Food Springfield, Urbana Market at the Square, The Land Connection, University of Illinois Extension, Ecology Action Center, and Heartland Community College Green Center.
To register your restaurant to participate in the 2016 Local Flavors events, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or print and mail in the Hard Copy Local Flavors registration form before April 30th, 2016.
