2018 was a game-changing year for our vision of a more resilient, vibrant and just local food system a reality. Thanks to Alliance members who rallied across the state, the Alliance not only passed three major state laws that build local food businesses, diversify the landscape, address food access, and bring economic opportunity to our state, but we also saw a major win in the federal Farm Bill. Our members across the state hosted letter-writing campaigns, attended listening sessions, and made phone calls to help win, for the first time ever, permanent funding for local food programs at $50 millions per year!
The action doesn’t stop there though! We were hard at work building local food systems from the ground up through our conservation and local food programming as well. Check out the report below!
