Farmers and ranchers have less than one month to sign up for the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) and the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP).
- Deadline for Filing Initial CSP Application – May 10, 2019
- Deadline for Filing Initial EQIP Application – April 19, 2019 and May 17, 2019
The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) offer improved financial support for cover crops, conservation rotations, and other conservation management practices this sign-up round. The Stewardship Alliance worked with a coalition of other organizations around the country to get these improvements included in the 2018 Farm Bill. These may help improve your bottom line while meeting conservation management goals you may want to build into your farm operation.
Your county Natural Resources Conservation office is the best resource for getting help with applications and learning what will be required under the contracts. We encourage you to contact your local Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) office to begin initial steps for sign-up.
