Rick Bayless is one of America’s top Mexican cuisine chefs of the past two decades best known for his TV shows and appearances, many books, and his slew of famous award winning restaurants in Chicago. What doesn’t get as much attention is that since 2003 his Frontera Farmer Foundation (FFF) has distributed nearly 200 grants to the sum of almost $2 MILLION!
In 2020 FFF will be continuing Chef Bayless’s commitment to support the local food movement by distributing $12,000 grants to small and mid-sized farms in Illinois and other Midwestern states.
The grants are judged based on demonstrated need, and more importantly, long-term dedication to sustainable farming. This consideration of commitment to sustainability and local foods will make any of our farming stewards serving the Chicago area perfect candidates!
Below is information on how to apply, be sure to submit before March 6th, and share with an eligible farmer today!
