Stories of Creative Resilience from Illinois Food and Farm Entrepreneurs
Thursday, Aug. 27th at 2pm
The COVID-19 pandemic shed light on the weak links in our food system, but it has also driven innovation and highlighted the resilience of local food and farm entrepreneurs in Illinois. As restaurants and schools closed, local food producers began shifting their models in creative and unexpected ways to continue providing for their communities and their families.
At the convening, you will hear from five food and farm entrepreneurs on how they pivoted their business models in the middle of a crisis and came out on the other side stronger. Each story will be followed by a breakout session where you will have the opportunity to join the conversation on how we can scale up these innovations for a stronger, more resilient local food system in Illinois. Breakout sessions will be facilitated by ReGenerate Illinois coalition members.
Raya Carr, Mint Creek Farm

The Convening will be followed by a half-hour Virtual Happy Hour — don’t forget to bring your favorite summer beverage.
