Today is the launch of Housewarming, a brand new podcast exploring climate policy and solutions in Chicago and beyond.

The first episode, by hosts Abby Wilson and Anni Metz, features Alliance director Liz Stelk and soil health champion farmer Kathy Kaesebier. Kathy Kaesebier farms with her husband, Rick, in Elkhart. They grow corn and soybeans, wheat, cattle, Katahdin sheep, meat and layer chickens, and honeybees.

Liz and Kathy talked about soil health, how farmers like Kathy are part of the climate solution and how the rest of us can use our eating choices and our voices to build a resilient, regenerative local food systems. Kathy described how farming in ways that build healthy soil and organic matter produces healthier food and draws down and stores climate-warming carbon.

Housewarming will release three episodes each month: one 20-minute deep dive into the issues affecting Chicago and Illinois that you can listen to during your lunch break or commute and two 5-minute coffee break episodes highlighting local organizations that inspire action.

You can listen and subscribe to Housewarming on Apple, Spotify, and Stitcher here: and follow on facebook, twitter and instagram at @housewarmingpod.
