Small Grains Workshops

Illinois Farmers are facing mounting challenges. Tariffs are eliminating markets and driving down the prices of corn and soybeans. Water quality and soil health are ever-present concerns. And, the lack of diversified crops and biodiversity in commodity agriculture remain a major issue.

To help mitigate these problems, the partners at Regenerate Illinois are hosting a series of events that aims to connecting farmers in the Middle Mackinaw region with resources they need when expanding rotations and improving soil health. The series focuses on how small grains can increase crop diversity, soil health, and profits, and will provide farmers with seed-to-sale connections for all stages of farming diversified crops.

Sessions will cover small grain topics:

  • Production
  • Storage
  • Handling
  • Current research
  • Networking
  • Marketing
  • Buyers

Other topics:
