Spread holiday cheer and volunteer! Illinois Stewardship Alliance is seeking volunteers to help with attendance counts at the Springfield Holiday Farmers Market on Saturday, December 16th from 9am – 1pm at the Orr Building on the State Fairgrounds. Attendance counts help tell the story of the market and how important it is to our community, and this data will be used to help seek sponsors and grants and grow the market in the future. Shifts last for just 45 minutes. Sign up for a shift, do a little good, and then peruse the market and stock up on fresh ingredients and unique holiday gifts from local artisans.
First shift: 8:30am – 9:15 am
Second shift: 9:15am – 10:00 am
Third shift: 10:00am – 10:45am
Fourth shfit: 10:45am – 11:30am
Fifth shift: 11:30am – 12:15pm
Sixth shift: 12:15pm – 1:00pm.
Shifts are just 45 minutes long and we need 3 volunteers for each shift.
Volunteer will use clickers to track attendance as shoppers enter the Orr Building. There are two entrances and one volunteer will be stationed at each entrance. An additional volunteer will help with Dot Surveys. Dot Surveys are a quick and easy way to get feedback and data from shoppers. A question, such as “How did you hear about this event” will be written on a large easle with poster board, with multiple choice answers below. Volunteers will have markers or stickers and will ask passerby to mark their answer on the poster board.
Other volunteer duties may include helping with set-up or tear-down of tables and chairs and taking pictures for social media.
How do I sign up?!
Volunteers are welcome to sign up for a single date, multiple dates, or the whole season!
We’re counting market visitors every Saturday and once a month on Wednesdays. The market runs through October 28th. We would love your help!
