The Alliance is proud of our Caucus members taking center stage on Ciliving.tv to share more about their roles as lobby day leaders at our upcoming Food Farm Week of Action.

Kaitie Adams, Savanna Institutes Demonstration Farm Manager and John Williams owner/operator of Red Crib Acres shared their experience getting more involved with the Alliance,

“[The Alliance] is a major ally for farmers and eaters in Illinois. Most important for us as farmers is the Alliance helps us build power through policy work and talking with legislators as well as amplifying our voices and telling the stories of farmers that you may not think of when you think of what a typical farmer looks like.”

Not only are Kaitie and John expanding what farming looks like by “building resilient farming systems for the future” they are also building power outside of the field and into the Zoom meeting room during our Virtual Food & Farm Week of Action to talk with their State Senator Scott Bennett.

Kaitie and John have signed up as lobby day leaders and are excited to discuss their needs, challenges, and successes with their Senator and are encouraging other farmers and eaters to set up meetings in their district. Did we mention how easy it is?

We would also like to thank Taidghin, from one of our partners the Land Connection, for getting this interview scheduled!
