Something truly incredible happened on Sunday October 4, 2020!
Over 600 Illinoisans passionate about local food, thriving ecosystems, and vibrant communities came together – virtually, of course – for our inaugural The Dish fundraiser (which you can watch in full above!).
Folks joined in fellowship, laughed and cried as farmers’ shared their stories, and dug deep in your pocketbooks to fuel our work to build just and regenerative food systems in Illinois. In all, we raised $22,975.
Thank you for helping surpass our fundraising goal by nearly $3,000. Your support will help:
- Train and empower farmers and eaters with the tools they need to create change,
- Develop resources you need to make finding and buying local food easy, and
- Provide easy and effective opportunities for you to take action on food and farm issues you care about.
Your contributions to the Alliance make it easy for you to use your voice and your choices to create change. We give you the tools you need to take action for a better food system. Not a system for the people, but one designed by and with people.
There’s still time to make a gift. You can make a contribution this week to show your support for farmers courageously sharing stories of overcoming challenges, taking risks, unexpected surprises, and finding joy along the way.
If you missed it, check out the full event recording below, or get a taste of what each farmer dished up below:
We know you’ll be inspired by these amazing farmers. We know you want more farmers like them stewarding Illinois’ land. We know you want more of them producing great tasting food for you and your community.
You can help give sustainable local farmers like them more opportunities to succeed.

We couldn’t do what we do without the help of local businesses and individuals that care about family farms, healthy communities, and wholesome food for all. It takes each and every one of us, working together, to create change. Thank you so much to those who are helping to lead the way!
