We’re heading to the Illinois Farmers Market Association on March 29th to learn about all great practices and programs that farmers and market managers across the state are using to grow their markets. Will you join us?
On Wednesday, March 29, 2017, farmers market managers, vendors, volunteers, and local food proponents, visionaries, advocates and community stakeholders will participate in the annual Farmers Market Conference at Kendall College in Chicago, Illinois. Past conferences have drawn participants from across Illinois and beyond for the much sought-after education, information, inspiration, idea sharing, and networking. This day-long conference, produced with support from Groupon, will feature keynote speakers, vendor fair, winter market, networking opportunities, and plenty of idea sharing. In addition, four educational tracks, led by seasoned professionals in farmers market management, marketing, and local food systems, will be available:
(1) Farmers Market Manager Track will offer information for new and experienced market managers and volunteers
(2) Farmers Market Vendor Track for new and veteran vendors offers new ideas for improving their businesses
(3) SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) Track will provide everything you need to initiate a SNAP Program
(4) Farmers Market Presentations Track will offer a diverse selection of presentations to enhance any business or market.
As members of the Illinois Farmers Market Association, we’re proud to support this event! Catch our executive director, Lindsay Record, presenting on farmers market trends and stop by our booth to provide feedback on market regulations and fill out post-cards to your legislators to support local food legislation that will help grow farms and farmers markets. We’d love to hear from you!
